Recently, Dr. Andres, an editor from the world-renowned academic journal Nature Communications, visited the School of Biomedical Engineering at Guangzhou Medical University, delivering an excellent academic lecture titled "Publishing your findings with Nature Communications" to faculty and students. The lecture was hosted by Professor Guo Weisheng from the GMU-iCAN Lab at Guangzhou Medical University.

During the lecture, Editor Andres systematically introduced the mission of the journal Nat. Commun., the manuscript handling process, and the unique expectations the high-level open-access journal has for scientific research. Andres provided a detailed explanation of each stage from manuscript submission and review to final publication, and shared key elements for publishing research in top-tier journals. The lecture clearly and accessibly analyzed the review standards and publication strategies of high-level international journals, enhancing the faculty and students’ understanding of international academic publishing norms, editorial perspectives, and how to effectively present research findings. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions with Editor Andres on specific issues such as responding to reviewer comments, ensuring data rigor, and presenting interdisciplinary research.

This lecture provided a valuable opportunity for all researchers within the university who are passionate about the field of biomedical engineering to deepen their foundational knowledge and engage in dynamic dialogue. The interactive session was enthusiastic, and the exchange of ideas sparked new research inspirations.
