In 2025, the iCAN Laboratory maintained its strategic focus on developing "microenvironment-immune modulatory nanocarrier systems", achieving significant advancements in lipid-based nanobiomaterials and therapeutic applications for autoimmune diseases. This work has contributed novel insights and methodologies to the field of immunotherapy.

The iCAN Laboratory is honored to invite Professor Wang Guixue, a Distinguished Professor and doctoral supervisor from the School of Bioengineering at Chongqing University, to deliver an academic presentation titled "Advances in Vascular Cell Phagocytosis Biomechanics".

Recently, iCAN Lab’s PhD students Ziyang Liu and Wang Xiang participated in the "Nanshan Star" Graduate Innovation Forum, hosted by the Nanobiomaterials Division of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials and organized by the School of Biomedical Engineering at Guangzhou Medical University. They presented cutting-edge research findings through specialized academic reports. Demonstrating robust research capabilities and innovative study designs, both stood out among numerous participants, winning the first and third prizes, respectively. Their achievements reflect iCAN Lab’s sustained dedication to biomedical engineering and clinical translation research.

​Recently, after a rigorous selection process by the college, preliminary review by the Graduate School, and public announcement, Liu Zhengkun, a master's student and member of the iCAN Lab, has successfully been awarded the 2025 National Scholarship for Graduate Students due to his outstanding academic performance, remarkable research ability, and innovative achievements. During his master's studies, Liu Zhengkun has consistently maintained a rigorous and pragmatic research attitude, actively participated in key laboratory projects, and achieved significant milestone results, demonstrating excellent academic potential and comprehensive qualities.

Recently, Dr. Andres, an editor from the world-renowned academic journal Nature Communications, visited the School of Biomedical Engineering at Guangzhou Medical University, delivering an excellent academic lecture titled "Publishing your findings with Nature Communications" to faculty and students. The lecture was hosted by Professor Guo Weisheng from the GMU-iCAN Lab at Guangzhou Medical University.

Recently, the iCAN Laboratory was invited to participate in the 2nd BMEMat-Advanced Materials Joint Symposium & International Conference on Biomedical Engineering (2nd BMEMat-Advanced Materials Joint Symposium & IMBME), jointly organized by the journal BMEMat hosted by Shandong University and the Advanced Materials journal under Wiley Publishing Group, and co-organized by the Shandong Industrial Technology Research Institute.
